Samuel Waxman Cancer Research Foundation Host Their 39th Annual Golf Tournament

Annual Tournament Raised Over $180,000 Towards Cancer Research Programs

The Samuel Waxman Cancer Research Foundation (SWCRF) held its 39th Annual Golf Tournament at the scenic Fresh Meadow Country Club in Lake Success, NY. It was a beautiful day for a round of golf and a reception as funds raised supported the SWCRF collaborative cancer research programs, and expand its investments in funding new, more effective, and less toxic, cancer treatments.

Sadly, the incidence of cancer is increasing worldwide. It is estimated that 1.8 million Americans – or more than 4,900 every day – will receive a cancer diagnosis this year. In 2020, the SWCRF directed more than $2.2 million in donor-supported funds to fund a record 50 research scientists at some of the world’s leading research institutions. The SWCRF research programs address more than 14 types of cancer and require that those who receive research funding, collaborate with labs outside of their disciplines and institutions. This type of collaboration fosters cooperation and knowledge sharing across labs and disciplines to speed the development of promising therapies. The 39th Annual Golf Tournament helped the SWCRF raise more over $180,000 in funds for research that is working to create a future without cancer!

Gary Jacob, Executive VP Glenwood Management, and Dennis Herman, Chairman and CEO of Beekman International Center, Ltd., co-Chaired the SWCRF Golf tournament. Mr. Jacob and Mr. Herman also are members of the SWCRF Board of Directors. The Golf committee members are Jeff Mann; Mann Publications, Jay Sullivan; Shannon River Partners, Dr. Samuel Waxman; SWCRF CEO and Founder, Ari ZagdanskiKinsmen Property Group, and Robert Eichler; CL Financial Group.
