Teen It girl and activist  Maya Henry attended the CFDA (Council of Fashion Designers of America) Fashion Awards on Monday, June 6th, 2016, along with the likes ofBeyoncé, Michael Kors, Heidi Klum and Naomi Campbell. The annual event, which took place at the Hammerstein Ballroom in central New York was hosted by comedian Joel McHale and in collaboration with Swarovski. CFDA is a non-profit trade association whose membership consists of more than 400 of America’s foremost womenswear, menswear, jewelry and accessory designers.

Fashionista Maya Henry looked radiant in a full length semi-sheer Etro gown with long sleeves and a floral pattern, matched with jewels by David Webb. Maya sported a trendy triple braid hairstyle by expert hair stylist Laura Polko and makeup by celebrity makeup artist Patrick Ta. This fashionista became an overnight sensation because of her $6M Quinceañera earlier this year – that featured performances by Pitbull and Nick Jonas.

The CFDA Fashion Awards is the most important annual event in the calendar of American fashion, and one of the few times a year that so many different fashion influencers come together in one place at the same time. The evening’s Award Winners included: Brandon Maxwell (Swarovski Award for Womenswear), Alex, Matthew and Samantha Orley of Orley (Swarovski Award for Menswear), Paul Andrew(Swarovski Award for Accessory Design), Imran Amed (Media Award in honor of Eugenia Sheppard for The Business of Fashion), Alessandro Michele of Gucci (International Award), Thom Browne (Menswear Designer of the Year), Marc Jacobs(Womenswear Designer of the Year) and Rachel Mansur and Floriana Gavriel of Mansur Gavriel (Accessory Designer of the Year). Additionally, Michael Kors presented the Lifetime Achievement Award to Norma Kamali, and Calvin Klein presented the Founder’s Award in Honor of Eleanor Lambert to Donna Karan.

The evening’s greatest surprise was Beyoncé. Guests had no inclination that the superstar was at the event when CFDA Chairwoman Diane von Furstenbergpresented Beyoncé with the Fashion Icon award.
